Plan industrial coding around the actual line.

Distributors, OEMs and integrators can use this guide to collect the package, code, data-flow and installation details needed for an industrial coding or labeling discussion. A technology name alone does not confirm equipment fit.

Six details that make a B2B discussion useful.

  • Product or package photos, material and presentation
  • Code or label artwork, variable data and required scan result
  • Throughput, spacing, print or apply position and line layout
  • Available power, air, mounting, guarding and environmental conditions
  • Data source, PLC, WMS, MES, ERP or database handoff requirements
  • Current equipment, consumable references and the reason for replacement when applicable

Answer the practical questions first.

What information helps scope an industrial coding project?

Start with the product or package, material, required code or label, throughput, print or apply position, and available installation space. For connected projects, describe the data source, trigger and expected handoff.

Can a distributor select a printer from the technology name alone?

No. CIJ, TIJ, TTO, laser, DOD and print-and-apply address different requirements. The actual product, code, speed, environment and integration conditions must be reviewed before selecting a configuration.

What should an OEM or integrator send for a replacement project?

Send the complete machine nameplate, current print or label sample, installation photos, current consumable references, product details and the reason for replacement. This helps determine whether service, a part, a consumable or a new system should be evaluated.

Send the evidence you have.

Start with a product photo, code sample, layout, data-flow note or current machine label. We can use it to determine the appropriate next discussion.
